  • home comforts: day four

I love Desert Pepper Trading Company's 2-Olive Roasted Garlic Salsa (medium-hot).  Also, and I didn't notice this until I looked at the website ... on the jar it says "MAY CONTAIN OLIVE PITS".

    Huh.

    Good to know.

  • home comforts: day three

This is one of my favorite corners, and it is next to my spot in the living room, where I sit now and write this post.  I recently created it using some of my vintage fruit crates, and put X's snake, Arbok, on top because I like to be near her and she likes the light of the north window, which is nearby.

Because lots of people were curious about the objects in the picture yesterday, I'll list most of what is in this photo:

    • On either side of the terrarium are pieces of pottery that I collect, although I collect too much stuff already.
    • Top left shelf -- library books (The China Study, Life of Pi, Healthy Living from the Inside-Out, and The Splendid Table's How to Eat Supper), Ready Made and Domino Magazines, my vintage giraffe toy.
    • Top right shelf -- Part of our (X and I) collection of vintage guide books.
    • Bottom left shelf -- Photography books, ceramic bowl, and dwell magazines.  I heart dwell.
    • Bottom right shelf -- Martha Stewart Living and Real Simple magazines.
    • Left of the shelves -- my dad's camera and camera case.

  • a month of home comforts

Things seem dreary, here, on my blogs, so ... I've decided to do 'a month of home comforts'.

I'm going to try and post a home comforts photo each day for the month of August ... inside, outside, upside-down.  It doesn't matter as long as it has something to do with life here on the one spot on earth that our family owns.

Please feel free to join me, although I realize that a lot of you post these kinds of photos, already, on a daily basis.  If you decide to join, let me know so that I can throw up a link to your blog or your flickr.  You don't have to take/post photos every day to join.

You can visit my home comforts set HERE or view the entire group's set (meaning OTHER PEOPLE'S PHOTOS) HERE.

  • who said i like rollercoasters?!

This week has been a ride.  Like a rollercoaster.  Only, I don't like rollercoasters

    • Theother23 is on his THIRD WEEK away from home.  One to go.  Maybe less.  HOPEFULLY less.
    • My SPS flared up.  Badly.  Activities of daily living, like driving and walking and eating and sitting and laying down, became near impossible.
    • The beater bar on my Dyson stopped working ... in the middle of THIS.  (I won't even comment on Dyson's hose-collapse syndrome.  Another time, maybe.)
    • Hell-fire-jungle-heat.
    • My internet service provider was mostly DOWN yesterday ... the day that I had two million things to do on the internet.
    • Today, I still have those two million things to do on the internet, am supposed to start on baclofen (mostly used for MS), have fifteen dozen errands to run (only I can't run), and would really just like to STAY HOME, have food delivered, and SEND MY CLONES TO COVER FOR ME.
    • Also, must remember to invent clone machine.

Oh, but, hey ... it is Friday.  Which, makes absolutely no flipping difference in my world.
