  • I absolutely LOVE the focus on that last photo!

  • Mmnn, awww, and I love the window peeking through the last picture...

  • I love the perspective in the last photo!  Fantastic.

Also, I apologize that my commenting has been totally lax.  I still read, daily; I've just become the world's worst commenter.  Lots of

  • Oooooh! Blurry tomatoes! Awesome!

  • That last photo sort of blows my mind...

  • @penny_lane9 - I owe apologies to a few dozen people myself, but really ... don't worry about it.  You've been distracted by the most wonderful thing -- LIFE!  I've been thinking that you're gonna go early as well.  I'm kind of hoping that you do.  Also, didn't you recently move?  I would love it if you'd email your address.

  • To anyone that reads this:  OMG!  Can you see the dust on the shelf in the middle photo?!  Eegads.

  • @Viewtiful_Justin - That kind of comment really blows my mind.  Thank you, Justin.  (I don't think that I've ever told you that I have a brother named Justin, age 25.)

  • I tots didn't notice the dust until you said it. The shadow behind the owl (which i love) caught my eye. And then I noticed how you focused the last pic. Fantastic! You are a professional quality photographer.  You are one talented artist.

  • Are those tomatoes in your garden?     It is so hot here, there is nothing left in mine except okra and it has rained so much, it is about drowned.   Why the blurry look?    On purpose or fortunate accident?

  • I love that last shot.  I'm reminded of the mental distance between the garden and the house -- so close, but yet the dramas and concerns of the one very seldom coincide with the dramas and concerns of the other on a moment-to-moment basis.  Perhaps that's part of the appeal of the garden -- you can lose yourself in a smaller, green world for a time and forget about your worries while you tend to manageable problems like weeds and squash bugs and then return to your "real life" refreshed and renewed.  The garden and the house are worlds apart, but sharing a backyard, and coming together when you bring a big bowl of tomatoes or a colander full of greens in to the kitchen for supper.

  • @kitkatsplash - Thank you, Kate.  Your opinion is meaningful to me.

  • @avajsouth - Hi, Ava.  The blur was intentional, just something that I wanted to try, but I wasn't aiming to include house.  I noticed it through the viewfinder, though, and decided to snap it.

  • @uncskainch - I have to admit ... that isn't my house!   But, I love your observation just the same because it holds true still.

  • No one has mentioned how the first photo practically screams for a piece of hot crusty bread for dipping.

  • Wow, we both have matching dust!  How cool is that ?

  • gorgeous print on your shelf

  • I love the focus of the last one!

  • At first, I couldn't stop staring at the first shot.  I'm trying to lose a couple pounds, so for the last week or so, no oil or butter for me. oh, that picture's driving me nuts!

But fortunately, I'm distracted by that last shot. wow!

And that Devil's Lake picture? It's by the boat launch near the south shore.. haven't been able to drive thru there untill recently, due to the flooding.

  • I love the owl and picture photograph.

  • Everyone else has already said how much they love the last one [I do too] but please tell me about the owl. From where did it come?

  • @Tom - I bought the owl at a thrift store (cheap), and I see them every once in a while.  If I see another, should I snag it for you?

  • @soNOTcool - You're sweet; but no thanks. I just saw it and had a flashback. I'm sure my mother had one [or more] and I just didn't recall what the intended purpose was, if any. Thank X for the link too
