grandma vs. a normal-sized person.
This is just a short, short video showing two of my great-aunts and my grandma ... versus a normal-sized person. They are Danish, which is a country known for its coffee drinkers, and looking at their stature you can see why people might thinking that drinking coffee stunts your growth.

Their faces are so similar!
My maternal grandmother is 5'1", and she's a full two or three inches taller than either of her daughters. They're Italian.
We have a lot of short Germans in the family. Do you think it has more to do with the early childhood nutrition or just genetics?
danish commentary on the comparsion video : look at the americans! and who still disagrees with how the beef patties in their big macs is not only injected with growth hormone but that is it effecting them?!

@knitsteel - I think it's genetics. But, I had to mention the coffee thing because, when I was little, everyone always told me that coffee would stunt my growth ... and that cheese would make me grow hair on my chest.
my maternal grandma was very short...come to think of it she drank pretty strong coffee too LOL! they told me black pepper would put hair on your chest
I drink coffee more often than water... and have since I was 12....yes, 12. My mom is a heavy coffee drinker too... and we're both 5'11. = )
I also still suck my thumb....and I'll be 24 this year. I have nice straight teeth. So THERE BS wives tales. haha.

Being only 5 feet tall, coming from a mother at 4'11", and grandmothers about 4'10" (ok, maybe only 4'9" in their prime) your grandmother and great aunts look pretty normal sized to me.... it's the other person in the video who looks oversized.
