    For her birthday, she wanted (and got) ... breakfast at the diner, a day of simple pleasures and things that she enjoys (like gaming), theother23's specially-prepared grilled hot dogs for dinner, and a movie (Be Kind, Rewind) for the three of us. 

    Perfect.

  • As the others have noted: a) I cannot f'n believe she's 16 already, b) she's absolutely gorgeous, and c) I want that hair colour. I'm glad she had exactly the day she wanted. Now tell me more about those hotdogs, ha!

  • @Kallikrates - I think that all it involves is spiral cutting the hot dogs and putting salt, pepper, and maybe pleasoning seasoning on them.  I have him make mine plain.

  • I'm loving her hair. Hannah is wanting to do the whole anime thing with hers next year for school... red with blue streaks. I think I might just let her.

    Still to this day it shocks me how much x reminds me of Hannah. Such unique, intelligent, beautiful girls. I think time would stop if the two were ever in the same place and same time. Powerful they are.

  • dude, you've got yourself an awesome kid. I think for my 16th birthday, all I wanted was a trip to the DOL so I could my license. Then I'm sure I did something stupid like raced kids down the country roads at 100 mph. Actually my first car only went 80mph. But just because a car can barely go that fast, doesn't mean it should be driven like that.

    On gravel roads.

  • Water is a neutralizing energy in a world all out of whack. It seems to stabilize our mental, physical and emotional charge. I am a firm believer that the positive and negative energies with which we surround ourselves (as well as create on our own due to daily actions and decisions) effect our well being on every level. Yin and yang. Just the half hour I spent in that canoe Friday afternoon was enough to literally feel the stress draining from my body.

    I'm also going to pick up one of these tomorrow before we hit the lake:

    Hannah will be 16 in November. I don't understand where all the years went. Am I really prepared to teach my own child how to drive??!

  • happy birthday to x!  we also had homemade hotdogs and watched Be Kind, so I must say that x has great taste in food and cinema!
