i inflict pain.
unintentionally,
but in a tensioned way.
the train rails are vibrating,
and common sense should
tell us
"step into the dappled shade".
the ties and gravel are jumping.
i inflict pain.
grappled this,
but minking back again.
the thin, tall shelf is tipping,
and when observed peripherally
the rush
of books is not so strange.
the tightly-bound papers are falling.
i inflict pain.
mingled in the fog,
but brightly lit with shame.
the water tower is in my view,
and its height my sight remarks
upon
throughout the vicious days.
the structure is deceiving.
i inflict pain.

Lovely photo of water and rocks. Personally, I am a little tired of water at the moment. Ike did that to me. We are so tired, so broken down and ailing. Indeed my weak spells are probably a combo fo low blood sugar and blood pressure. I am to carry my blood sugar tester with me now so I can see just how low I can go. ha ha What do you carry with you to boost your sugar if needed? I ate part of a chocolate bar this evening when I had a spell. Yum. I could grow to love this sort of treatment. Of course I wll get even more fat. Can't win for losing. My leg pain is tendonitis, got an antiinflammatory shot for that.
I am tired of being tired, tired of being old and decrepit. I am going to bed even if it is only 8:15.
Love, Ava
@avajsouth - You should never treat low blood sugar with chocolate unless you absolutely have nothing else. If you eat foods with fat in them during hypoglycemia, the body does not absorb the carbohydrates very quickly. I generally drink juice. You could also get glucose tabs, which don't taste too bad and they are like 4 carbs each, so it's easy to monitor how much you need/take. Any candies like Lifesavers, red licorice, Nerds, and Skittles work well too.
Foods with a bit of fat in them, which are absorbed slower, are indeed good for overall diabetes control though since they help to keep you from going too high or too low. They help you to stay *level*.
If you have any other diabetes questions, at all, just let me know. Even though I have type I, I can give very good general advice. Also, if you can, test your blood sugar whenever you drive, like right before you leave the house. If you are ever in an accident and can prove that you test your blood sugar before driving, you're less likely to be charged if ever in an accident. And, of course, less likely to get hurt yourself.
That photo is stunning!
Your inner pain is beating with my heart. It shall be soothed by the water that surrounds you if you let it! Float and bask in the wonders of water.
@Nanny - No inner pain, Nancy. I am reposting 20 old poems (this is #4), and will begin posting new work after that.
IN LOVE with the photo..... I want an entire wall of that photo. Mmmmmm.
I could've written this. I didn't, of course, and don't take nearly as lovely pictures as you, but I totally relate.
