  • this is me. hi.

When I first started blogging SIX YEARS AGO, I posted a lot of self portraits.  I'm not sure why.  Just exploring with the camera, I guess.  I did that for a few years, and then it ... just ... sort of ... stopped.

In case you weren't around then, or even if you were ... This is me.  Hi.

  • Hi!!

    Like that little wry smile

  • Yes, one must master the close mouthed smile, so that the beautiful eyes show up.  I used to wonder why my grandmother always looked so chic and sophisticated for the camera.  Now I realize that she had mastered the close-mouth smile.

    You are beautiful.

  • Well, hello again

  • jooooooddddiiii
    it's been awhile, beautiful.

    xo

  • I quit posting self-portraits when I realized that my 'self' was no longer essentially capturable by myself.  My last fadingly successful self-portrait was of me hanging pendant in front of Garfield's Monument.  And that's how I'd like to be remembered, if I'm remembered at all, here.

Hey, the frame above your head makes you appear to be samurai!

  • I remember first stumbling across your blog, oh, around 5 years ago I think. You are still very lovely! Thank you for sharing this photo of yourself; it was like a second sunrise.

  • I love self portraits.  You're gorgeous!

  • Hi! I like your hair color.

  • i just wanna put you in my pocket!

  • hello beauty! Is that what that flower is? I planted them and then lost the package.

  • @sherab_zangmo - Yes, bergamot aka bee balm.  I posted a photo of mine a day or two ago.

  • Oh yes! That's right. Yours appears purple and more healthy :>)

  • at this point i think i'd break the camera if i did a self-portrait LOL
you on the other hand look phenomenal!

  • For the record, this gay man thinks you are beautiful and unique.

  • You do have the most interesting smile I've ever known. It's a thinking woman's smile.  I adore it, so.

  • hawt stuff coming thru.

  • You should show yourself more often!
And just how many takes did you do before deciding this one Hmm?
(C'mon a photographer can't just take ONE photo of some thing)

  • @dustmite - In total, I took about 25 photos of myself yesterday.  I tried two different locations, and in this one spot I tried three different positions before the light worked just right.  Of the six photos I took there, I found two to be maybe public-worthy.  I decided to just show the best one.  Most of the pictures were oddly frightening, like the camera is possessed, but I know that I must really look like that.

  • Ok, so where are the pics of you now and you can't tell me they are all bad! I know you just did, but I know they can't possibly be all bad!

  • @RnBoW_SPOT - Well, there's always something, like a wonky eye or the under eye puffiness showing in EVERY OTHER PHOTO!    I don't know how my under eye circles didn't show in this photo.  It's like magic.

  • UM EXCUSE ME but, were you aware that the new Project Runway started TODAY!? I had no idea & just found out by chance today while I was flipping channels. Looks like an interesting bunch of people. Did you watch it?

  • Oh whoops. I just realized that you had replied to one of my comments & had mentioned Project Runway... which means that you saw it. What did you think? I'm sure you noticed the tanaholic who likes to say "GirlLicious!" What is that about? I liked the girl who made the yellow dress with the tomato necklace.. but it wasn't innovative enough. I thought the blue cup dress was great!

  • What happened to my comment here and at the Take my book comment box?     Maybe I am dreaming.    You are a cutie pie and take a very good picture.      And don't believe anything Molly says about breaking the camera with his picture.   She's just modest.   Ava

  • @avajsouth - You left the comments on my other (non-Xanga) blog.  I looked and your comments are still there.

  • always a beauty inside and out

  • Oh, that's neat! I really do wonder if there's some form of ESP in this world. That would explain a lot of things, I think. But in any case, thanks for checking in!

    You... are stunning.

  • i wish i still had a neck and a chin.  instead i now have about three chins...and the neck's more of a wattle.  sigh.

and you and those damned  eyebrows.  pbbbbity.  i canNOT believe those just grow that way when i'm stuck with the rainforest of brow growth.  not unlike brooke shields.

  • Hi.  You are beyond lovely (=
