fun and excitement.
You know that thing that I've been doing? That thing that rhymes with FLENZ?! It has spring-boarded me to make a few more commitments, to challenge myself with some small changes. (I see that I'm in good company as Wenderina is now under new management.)
- Read for an hour (or more) each day -- This probably seems lame and easy, but, as much as I enjoy reading, I put it on the backburner far too often. On a similar note, has anyone else signed up for GoodReads?
- Walk everywhere that I can and, when possible, take the dog -- This probably seems like another no-brainer and I'm ashamed that I don't walk more. I usually save up all my errands for one day and then do them by car.
- Daily video blog -- I'm going to try to post DAILY at my DAILY video blog (as opposed to NOT DAILY).
- Read the newspaper -- The Wisconsin State Journal is delivered to our home each morning. X reads it more than I do, I am ashamed to say. I would also like to do the puzzles more, especially Sudoku, which I love to play.
- Go to bed earlier -- I don't want to stay up so late and would like to go to bed around 9 pm as opposed to 11, even if to read for an hour.
And, that's all the fun and excitement going on in my world, folks. How are you?

I just took a shower. And so imagine I smell just like your flowers. (I still have a very good imagination.) So it's off to work to try to save the internet once again from the connivings of the evil botnets. But towards sundown, I'll be high off the ground. I have refound an intimacy with tall ladders and sloppy paint brushes here in mid-summer.
Given today's news, I think it's more important to smell the paper properly than to read it.
You find the best sites! I just signed up under my real name.
I have both those flowers, but I don't know the name for the ones on the bottom. Mine are red.
@BettyC - The common name for the flowers on the bottom is bergamot; It is also called Bee Balm. Here's the wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarda_didyma
Pretty flowers......
I'm going to look at the website now.
I am excellent, thanks for asking!
and I like your list, very much. and your flowers, too!
Forgot to mention that I hope you'll consider organizing a xanga 'swap' this summer..........
oooh, that Good Reads thing is neat. i tend to get overwhelmed in bookstores, nevermind online, because i want to read everything.
I'm doing okay, thanks.
Questions about the cleanse... where did you find how to do it? Was it a website that had guidelines & restrictions etc? I'm curious about it. Also, when you were doing it, did you find that you were hungry most of the time? Or was the food sufficient?
trying to enjoy the moments and not stress!
@spinksy - Gosh, I hadn't even thought about that. Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I'll give it a try next month or so ...
@key19 - I heard about the book, Quantum Wellness, and saw that the author was going to be on Oprah, so I watched that episode. (In the book, the cleanse is only a small portion of the topics covered; It's kind of a 'self-help' book in other regards and doesn't really appeal to me. Speaking of which, I'm going to hold a contest, if anyone is interested, and give the book away on the 17th/18th.) The basic guidelines are to do the cleanse for UP TO 21 days and to TRY and eliminate alcohol, caffeine, sugar, gluten, and animal products. The hardest part for me was giving up coffee. I wasn't hungry, but I ate really well. For instance, I crave meat-type foods a lot, so I made things like Amy's Bistro Burgers, which are DELICIOUS, and lots of hummus and such. I'll do one final post on the cleanse when I do the book giveaway on Thursday. Feel free to contact me with any further questions, and I'll help however I can.
OH, AND DID YOU SEE THAT PROJECT RUNWAY STARTS ON WEDNESDAY?!?!?!!
I tried to grow some BeeBalm from seed this year, no go.
Yours is lovely as are the Purple Coneflower!
I joined goodreads! I love that, you always come up with the best sites! I'm really glad that your cleanse has been helping with pain management. It's amazing how something we don't even think about... like things that are 'supposed' to be healthy can actually be bad depending on the person. I hope you can target what makes you feel icky and indulge in the rest!
I do all those things, save for bed at 9. I'm trying. Trying. It's hard though, ya know? Walking is good for the soul.
We have coneflowers just outside our front window - huge and eye level by the couch. I love them. Isaac got a mondara plant like that (only redder)... it's shriveled it's blooms already. That was fast...
